Coppergate Square, FREE (small charge for some craft activities).
A fun competition for any bearded barbarian wishing to parade his / her facial hair to win the ultimate Viking beard trophy! Beards available to make on the day. Judging at 13:00, participants to register before 12:30. All ages welcome!

The Festival fleet has landed in Coppergate Square! Meet its commander and hear him recite ancient poems. Experience a variety of activities that explore Viking life on water and on dry land.

JORVIK Viking Centre offers a world famous multi-sensory visitor experience that incorporates sights, sounds, smells and touch elements in three exciting exhibitions. Time Machine, the Time Capsule Ride where visitors through a fascinating life-size reconstruction of Viking-Age streets, as they would have been in the year AD975, and actually come face to face with a 'Viking' in the Museum Galleries.
